This week, the students will continue to practice the Reading Strategy of Summarizing. We will put our reporter's hat on and ask the important questions: who, what, when, where, why, and how? As we read through several nonfiction text structures, we will summarize the information.
Language Arts
This week, the students will put their knowledge of sentences to the test. We will begin reviewing simple, compound, and complex sentences and applying these skills as we write our G.R.E.A.T. essays.

Spelling This week, the students will practice all of the spelling skills learned. There will be no new list of words this week. Be sure to practice your cursive!!!

In Science, the students will conclude our unit on Scientific Method. We will be researching and creating a Glogster for our Biography of a Scientist Project. Next, we will learn about the Engineering Design.
Social Studies
The students will learn about European Explorers. While learning about explorers, the students will also present their totem poles to the class.
